As the leading supplier of opinion polls within Scotland for over 30 years, TNS will be publishing regular polling in the run-up to the Scottish Independence referendum on 18th September 2014, using the exact wording which will feature on the ballot paper for the referendum vote.

TNS conducted one of this series of voting intention polls between 3rd and 10th January 2014. In the same survey, TNS was commissioned by BBC Scotland to ask additional questions about the issues which are likely to be of most importance to voters when thinking about how to vote in the Scottish Independence referendum on 18th September 2014 (Q2a-Q2c in this set of data tables).

The results of these questions were included in the BBC documentary “Scotland’s Top Ten Battlegrounds”, broadcast on 11th February 2014. Respondents were presented with a list of 10 issues, and the ranking of these issues used in the documentary was based on a mean score calculation of the number of respondents rating each issue as most, second most or third most important to them in how they might vote.
