NEW YORK, June 28, 2008 — TNS Healthcare continues to expand its Portfolio Team, announcing three new senior hires today—Marty Silverman, Senior Vice President/Practice Leader, Sales Force Effectiveness; Michael Smolens, Vice President, Brand Research: and Porter Hibbitts, Vice President, Client Services, Brand Management. Mr. Silverman will lead TNS Healthcare’s Sales Force Effectiveness Practice, working with pharmaceutical and biotech companies to maximize the effectiveness, productivity and ROI of their sales and service activities. Mr. Smolens and Mr. Hibbits are key additions to TNS Healthcare’s Brand Management Practice and will focus on helping customers optimize brand value, equity and performance.

Marty Silverman Brings 17 Years of Industry and Sales Experience
Marty Silverman brings more than 30 years of pharmaceutical experience to his new role at TNS Healthcare. His career has focused on building and leading successful teams, responsible for a full range of sales operations functions, including targeting, alignment, performance measurement, incentive compensation and sales force automation.
Mr. Silverman comes to TNS Healthcare from Esprit Pharma, where he served as Vice President, Sales and Marketing Operations. He also has held senior sales operations and administration positions at ESP Pharma, Eisai, Collagenex, Novo-Nordisk and Reed & Carnrick. On the vendor side, Mr. Silverman worked as Director, Marketing for Scott-Levin, providing market research and consulting services to pharmaceutical clients. He began his career in the industry at Schering, with roles in sales, sales training and managed markets.
Mr. Silverman hold a BS in Biology from Union College and an MBA in Marketing from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, including PharmaForce and CBI.
Michael Smolens Provides Deep Brand Management and Market Research Expertise
With 14 years of industry experience, Mr. Smolens has focused his career on product management and market research, supporting both emerging and in-line brands. He has led projects across a broad range of key therapeutic areas, including infection, oncology, CNS, respiratory, inflammation, heart disease and diabetes.
Before coming to TNS Healthcare, Mr. Smolens served as a Senior Product Manager at AstraZeneca, developing and implementing the commercial strategy and tactics for Merrem, a hospital anti-infective. He began his career at AstraZeneca as a Senior Market Research Analyst, before moving into product management roles in the anti-infective and oncology categories.
Prior to Astra Zeneca, Mr. Smolens was a Project Manager at Strategic Marketing Corporation, managing all phases of qualitative and quantitative market research projects to support pharmaceutical brand positioning and forecasting. He started in the industry at Migliara Kaplan as a Senior Quantitative Analyst/Project Manager.
Mr. Smolens holds a BA in economics from the University of Arizona and an MA in Economics from the University of Delaware. He also was a doctoral student of Economics at George Mason University.
Mr. Hibbitts Offers Extensive Market Research and, Business Development Knowledge
Mr. Hibbitts has a pharmaceutical background spanning almost two decades, with extensive experience on both the corporate and supplier sides of the business. His career has focused on business development in both marketing research and sales effectiveness.
Mr. Hibbitts joins TNS Healthcare from Caduceus Marketing Research, where he served as Director, Business Development. Prior to Caduceus, Mr. Hibbitts held positions as Vice President, Business Development for Double Helix Development and Vice President, Key Account Management for Market Measures/Cozint, part of NOP World Health. In addition, he led his own consulting firm, working with advertising agencies and other vendor servicing the pharmaceutical industry.
Before moving over to the supplier side, Mr. Hibbitts worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb as the Manager of Sales Force Productivity. He began his career in the pharmaceutical industry at GlaxoSmithKline, then SmithKline Beecham, starting as a Professional Sales Representative and moving ahead to Field Sales Analyst, Associate Contract Manager/Senior Contract Management Analyst and Priority Consultant. During his years in the industry, he has gained therapeutic experience across a wide range of categories, including cardiovascular, CNS, antibiotics, arthritis and vaccines.
Mr. Hibbitts holds a BS in Advertising and Public Relations from Texas Christian University. He also has an MBA in Marketing from Texas Tech University.
