What is TNS ComTech?

TNS ComTech™ is the world’s largest syndicated research project measuring the converging markets of mobile telecoms, fixed line, broadband and Pay TV.

A panel of more than 170,000 consumers, demographically representative across the five key European countries, are interviewed every four weeks on their behaviour across mobile, broadband, fixed line and TV.

The size of the sample ensures that real insight can be delivered on a wider global basis as well as at a local level.

This new pan-European service comes in response to the ever-increasing globalisation of the communication technology marketplace, with clients increasingly requiring local country and regional insights, which can be easily compared and translated across territories.

In 2009 TNS ComTech will be further expanding its coverage into other key global markets.

Why use a continuous panel?

TNS ComTech uses a continuous panel of consumers. By going back to the same panellists over time, ComTech will deliver detailed information on consumer profiling and actual behaviour, to aid market and brand performance, market testing, campaign planning, segmentation sizing and design, plus competitor intelligence. Other benefits include:

  • Consumers become accustomed to answering questions on a regular basis and are familiar with the process
  • As they know they will be interviewed again and again, responses are more accurate
  • As it is the same people, TNS can track REAL behaviour over time
