TNS Worldpanel Ireland
TNS Worldpanel Ireland has over 40 years’ experience specialising in providing continuous market research to measure and understand consumer spending across the Irish grocery market
The currency for shopper understanding
2009 brings with it a whole new requirement for understanding about shoppers as well as trends within the Irish grocery sector. The TNS team based in Dublin works across the FMCG industry in Ireland using household panel data from across the Republic as well as Northern Ireland.
Our expertise
- TNS Worldpanel Ireland is a panel of 3,650 households, which is representative of the total island population of approximately 2.1 million households. Our panel in the Republic of Ireland expanded to 3,000 households in 2008 which now makes it the most representative panel across the whole of Europe.
- We collect detailed information from these households electronically on products purchased and prices paid, as well as identifying the retail outlet where the product was purchased and who made the purchase (demographics).
- Our expertise lies in creating meaningful insights from this information that helps our clients to truly understand their consumers and markets, leading to the measurable return on investment.
Insight Services and Solutions
- We provide our clients with national and regional reports on market estimates together with manufacturer and brand shares. This is complemented through insight relating to the shopper as well as the overall shopping basket.
- Our Retailer Share of Trade information covers all the main retailers including Dunnes as well as the Discounters. We have also developed new analysis for 2009 where we can understand more about the current economic climate in Ireland and the impact this is having upon shoppers.
- New for 2009 - 2,200 of our household panel in the Republic of Ireland are also now online which gives us the ability to ask buyers of different brands and categories why they behave the way they do. This also gives us more ability around market segmentations where we can map clusters of shoppers and ask them direct questions.
