The Omnibus Malaysia is a syndicated survey run by TNS Research International Malaysia to provide clients with an affordable option of carrying out a short survey on a large, representative sample of Peninsular Malaysia.

Advantages of Omnibus

The advantage of the Omnibus Malaysia is that it is carried out through face-to-face interviews amongst a completely random sample through door-to-door, pen and paper interviews resulting in the following advantages:

  • Better representation and coverage than a phone survey as landline penetration is currently lower than 60% in Malaysia
  • Face to face interviews enable brand, ad verification through packshots/ masked storyboards, and also allow quick concepts to be tested
  • Face to face allow longer interviews and better co-operation than phone interviews

The Omnibus Malaysia is run on a monthly basis and offers clients a choice in terms of representation:

  1. Urban survey: Covering the key market centres and prominent cities – in all 12 locations covered through a sample of 1000 interviews in a month.
  2. Urban + Rural Survey: In addition to the urban centres, this option covers an additional rural sample across the prominent regions resulting in a sample of 1350 interviews in a month

The Omnibus Malaysia survey has been capturing the demographic profile of the market, key ownership penetration data, media habits and provides some in-depth reports by some categories and services.
